Rt 15 Picnic Area
Rt 15 Picnic Area

Orrington's Conservation Commission maintains public lands for the use and enjoyment of its residents as well as outside visitors.

In the past, visitors to these areas have been thoughtful and careful users by carrying out their trash and respecting the posted signs in regards to the proper use of these areas.

Here are the four sites maintained by the Commission:

1. The Picnic area. This lovely grass and shaded area on the bank of the Penobscot River is located off Route 15 about one mile south of Center Drive and is open from Memorial Day through the end of October. There are picnic tables at both upper and lower levels which offer a beautiful view of the

3. Fox Island is just a short distance across Brewer Lake from the boat launch. Watch for signs marking the "Day Use" picnic area boundaries and please remember to sign in, as required by the State of Maine, and carry out your trash.
